How long can you sit alone with yourself? How long can you do nothing except be with only you? How well can you observe your thoughts, sensations, and feelings without getting swept away by them? How long can you sit within your inner world before you reach for your phone, computer, project, book, pet, partner, or other distraction? How long until being with just yourself isn't enough?
How long until you distract yourself with a story that makes you angry, sad, or worrisome? How long until you HAVE to do something about the story that's overtaking your ability to be with yourself? The story that convinces you that just noticing your thoughts and feelings is uncomfortable. The story that propels you to do something to assuage the discomfort YOUR mind has created?
What is it about you that you can't be with? And if you can't be with you, how will anyone else?
What if you could be with yourself without distraction? How might you be different if observing your experiences without judgment was possible; not longing for what you don't have or what others owe you, no expectations of self or other?
Now I'd like you to consider asking yourself this one question: What if I am enough?
